As we prepare to head to Bihar with Be!, students are getting excited about organization in Delhi. One of our Be! Books is all about the skill of keeping information organized. Geet’s Upside-Down, Inside-Out Cookbook is a story of a young woman who works at a colorful dhaba on the highway and cannot keep her recipes organized–leading to disastrous, and occasionally delicious, results.

After students read the book, they complete an activity in which they pretend they are running a company and need to keep their important due dates and deadlines in order. They are given lots of tasks that they must prioritize and map onto their monthly calendar. When we tested the activity with students, they were absorbed in creating the calendar for an hour! Who says organizing isn’t fun?
